From Kitchen Bench to Perth Expo: The Story Behind Every Jar
Some stories don’t begin with a grand plan. Ours started in a small kitchen in East Victoria Park with a job lost, two hungry little boys at the table, and an old family recipe pulled from memory.
That same story, years later, made its way to one of Western Australia’s biggest culinary stages: The Good Food & Wine Show in Perth.
We didn’t arrive with flashy signage or rehearsed pitches. We came with jars real, honest jars filled with pickles, chutneys, and curry pastes made just the way our grandparents taught us. With patience. With love. With respect for the ingredients.
As people strolled past the stalls, something about ours made them pause. Not because we were louder but because it felt familiar. Something in the colour of the lime pickle, the handwritten labels, the warmth in our smiles it reminded them of something they hadn’t tasted in a long time.
We saw it in their eyes before they said a word.
A whisper of memory. A nod.
And then:
“I used to have this with dal at my grandmother’s place.”
“This smells like home.”
“You’ve taken me back.”
Those three days at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre weren’t just about tastings and transactions they were about moments. Moments where food met feeling. Where strangers became friends over a shared memory of mustard seeds crackling in oil or the comfort of a tangy mango chutney on a warm roti.
At Stall P18, we stood as a family Sam, our quiet yet relentless chef and father of two. Angie, his partner in life and spirit. And our sons, Armaan and Kabir, watching the legacy being built, one smile at a time.
Every jar we sold wasn’t just a product it was a promise.
Of clean ingredients. Of WA-made freshness. Of tradition that doesn’t cut corners.
Gluten free. Vegan. No preservatives. Nothing artificial. Just the good stuff.
But more than what’s inside it’s about what it stands for.
The show ended. The crowds moved on. But something stayed.
A deep knowing that this little family business, born out of necessity, now carries meaning for others too.
We’ve returned to our kitchen a little more inspired, a little more certain to keep doing what we do best: slow-roasting, hand-packing, and pouring our story into every single jar.
